Peanut butter is a mucho good protein. I eat it in place of nuts cause it's easier to digest. When I years ago switched from whole milk to low fat milk, I didn't do the same with butter and cheese -- mainly because I believe in the merits of the Mediterranean diet, which would no more recommend low fat cheese and butter than buckets of whale blubber.

I'm not much of a milk drinker to start with, but we do eat butter, cheeses, and yogurt at our house. I eat a lot of peanut butter. Is that no so good for me?

Actually, the Dr. Weil piece about his low fat switcheroo was over a year old. So if I'd been on my toes I would have been enjoying whole milk a whole lot sooner. Like many, he recommends organic dairy, but less than 10% of daily calories. A big cheese and yogurt lover, I'm WAY over that percent. Will have to give organic milk a try...

That's interesting Dr. Weil changed his mind about low-fat dairy products. Wasn't he advocating no dairy products at one point? I could swear I saw a PBS interview with him in which he said certain health problems like allergies can be alleviated by completely cutting out dairy. My daughter believes cutting out dairy improved her allergies to the point where she is symptom free most days.

I'm a total dairy hound myself, wouldn't dream of making a cup of hot cocoa with anything but 100% octane organic milk.
